Jim Comrada
Jim Comrada is ETC’s ecologist and expert designing plantings in mitigation and restoration sites. He is current president of the Native Plant Society and has served in an advisory capacity for communities and colleges and school districts in the area.

Professional Summary As a horticultural professional with over thirty years experience with a background in botany, zoology, and environmental horticulture Jim is especially well suited to develop success based mitigation and restoration strategies for riparian habitats that optimally hasten canopy closure, while effectively controlling invasive weed species and, ultimately striving to reduce the long term costs often associated with mitigation and restoration endeavors. For ten years between 1987 and 1997 Jim was employed with the city of Portland, OR as a Horticulturist and educator. Jim taught preparatory department of agriculture herbicide applications classes for employees during his employment with the city of Portland. From 1997 to 2002 Jim managed the Clark County Native Plant Nursery propagating, growing, planting, and then maintaining all plants for county wetland mitigations. 2004 to Present Jim has been employed by ETC. Jim's responsibilities at ETC include wetland delineations, vegetation surveys, environmental assessments, mitigation and restoration design, construction, maintenance, and monitoring, and invasive weed management. Periodically, for members of the Washington State Noxious Weed Control Board Jim monitors the status of a potentially invasive emergent plant species Cyperus eragrostis (Umbrella Sedge) that he discovered in Clark County during his internship with the city of Vancouver, WA. Jim currently possesses Commercial Pesticide Applicator licenses in the state of Oregon and state of Washington. Both licenses include Aquatic Pest Control endorsements.
